The importance of an all-inclusive online scheduling database became apparent to us shortly after the cancelation of in-person learning as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. While many new and returning students said they were sure as to what their schedule might look like next year, a larger group of our peers expressed uncertainty about their futures due to the cancelation of events such as the club fair. The uncertainty felt in response to the idea of another semester of online learning reminded us of the lack of resources presented to incoming freshmen on a diversity of opportunities in and outside of the classroom. Without any online resources to fill this void of confusion, the team here at MIHS Prepared set out to create a platform that all students at MIHS can use to regain confidence in their futures, and reclaim control over a school year hijacked by remote learning.
